Your Questions Answered

Does BSP have dividend franking?

No, BSP does not issue franked dividends and does not carry franking credits when paid to shareholders in PNG, Australia, or elsewhere.

Why haven't I received my dividend payments?

There may be a few reasons why a shareholder does not receive dividends. The most common reasons involve the date at which your shares were purchased in relation to key dividend dates:

  • ex-dividend date — to be eligible to receive a dividend, a shareholder must hold the share before the ex-dividend date. If the date when the shares are transferred is on or after the ex‑dividend date, the dividend will go to the previous holder.
  • record date — the record date is when the list of eligible shareholders is finalised for each dividend payment. If a shareholder’s name is not correctly registered by this date, they will not be eligible to receive the dividend. Incorrect registry information may be due to incomplete transfers, incorrect name details, or delays in broker settlement.

There may also be other causes, such as:

  • Incorrect bank account details
  • Shareholder name or address mismatches
  • Cross‑border payment issues
  • Dormant or frozen accounts

Who do I contact to recover unclaimed dividends?

You can contact BSP’s share registry service providers in PNG and Australia.
