To kickstart the tournament preparations, BSP Kimbe Branch Manager, Betty Posangat, officially presented a sponsorship cheque of K20,000 to the organising committee.

Ms. Posangat said, “BSP has been a cornerstone supporter of the National Game Fishing Titles circuit. This partnership extends beyond the sport; it is a strategic investment in the local economies of the host provinces, rooted in the communities where we operate.”

“By supporting this national event in Kimbe, we are helping to build a positive rapport for West New Britain, showcasing our local business houses, and championing prosperity for the province,” she said.

Ian O’Hanlon – President of the San Remo Game Fishing Club, thanked BSP for their support, highlighting that West New Britain is set to welcome a surge of visitors from across the country and overseas. The SRGFC promises to host an exciting national event in the bustling town of Kimbe, which is one of the fastest growing and largest economic hubs in the New Guinea Islands region. Mr. O’Hanlon welcomed BSP, as a leading business house in the province, proudly playing ‘host’ alongside many other local, national and international sponsors.

“The bank’s involvement will boost the profile of local tourism and hospitality SMEs, strengthening relationships between visiting participants and local enterprises, whilst together fostering community growth through high-profile sporting exposure.”

“We are pleased to support the local communities in building their business profiles,” Ms. Posangat added. “When we invest in events like this, we are investing in the people and the future of West New Britain.”
